Nanban Scroll

“Nanban Scroll” referred to  a Nanban screen painted by Kano Naizen in the late 16th to early 17th century in Japan. The Nanban screen depicted arrival of Portuguese during the Southern babarian trade period.

“Nanban Scroll” is a horizontally oriented mixed media work showing various actions that relating with Portugal. This work was supposed to be a visual script proposed for a video work to be realized in future.
