最近AIという単語を日常生活でよく聞くようになり、多くの場面で目覚ましい活躍を見せているようです。 AIとはArtificial Intelligence（人工知能）の略語で、中にはプロンプトと呼ばれる指示言葉や文章を伝えることで、画像生成、作詞や作曲、ナレーションなどの創作まで行えるものもあります。 そのようなAI技術を活用することで、専門知識のない一般の人でも容易に映画を作ることができるようになりました。 今回のイベントは、オーストラリア・シドニーを拠点にそういったAIによって生み出された映画を公募し国際映画祭を開催するOMNI主催による日本での上映会です。 2025年春頃、「AIを活用することによってどのような映画が出来上がるのか？」という声に賛同した世界中のクリエーター達から約1,000もの作品が集まり、専門家による審査会を通した17作品が、今回、山口の上映会で見られます。 「AIに何ができるのか？」、「人間の想像力とは？」、「作者は一体誰なのか？」など、今を生きる私たちが直面しているAIの世界の一端を見てみませんか？ 当日は、上映会と共に関係者によるオンライン・トークを実施します。 ぜひ、お気軽にご来場ください。

Recently, the term “AI” has become increasingly common in daily life, and it is showing remarkable capabilities in many areas. AI stands for Artificial Intelligence, and some systems can create images, write lyrics or music, and even produce narration by receiving instructions in the form of words or sentences called prompts. By utilizing such AI technologies, even people without specialized knowledge can easily create films. This event is a screening in Japan organized by OMNI, based in Sydney, Australia, which hosts an international film festival for movies created using AI. Around spring 2025, approximately 1,000 works were submitted by creators worldwide who were curious about “what kind of films can be made using AI?” Among these, 17 films passed the expert review process and will be screened at this event. Why not take a look at a glimpse of the AI-driven world we face today and explore questions such as “What can AI do?”, “What is human imagination?”, and “Who is the real author?” On the day of the event, an online talk with the organizers and a guest speaker will also be held alongside the screenings.
